Вообще республиканцы действительно относятся к России намного лучше, чем демократы. И между республиканцами и демократами тёрки.

The results of a recent Gallup Poll make the same point. Since 2014, the percentage of Republicans who consider Russia an ally has almost doubled from 22 percent to 40 percent. Democrats still have no illusions about Russian intentions since there are few Democrats now (28 percent) or four years ago (25 percent) who believe the Russians are our buddies.
The differences between Democrats and Republicans on Russia are striking. Trump has given new meaning to the phrase “Red State.” A Pew Research Center survey showed the proportion of Republicans who thought favorably of Putin had more than doubled (11 percent to 27 percent) between 2015 and 2017.
A Pew Poll conducted earlier this year asked Americans whether they thought Russia’s power and influence were a major threat to the United States. Close to two-thirds of the Democrats (63 percent) said the Federation was a major threat. Like sheep going to slaughter only two-fifths of the Republican partisans felt the same way.
Количество республиканцев, рассматривающих Россию как союзника, увеличилось с 22 до 40 процентов с 2014 года. Демократы соответственно 25 -> 28.
63% демократов считают Россию значительной угрозой, среди республиканцев 40%.
